Stargazing at Wellow with Bath Astronomers

Sunday 6th October 2019 from 20:00pm to 22:00pm

Wellow Public Car Park
Station Road, Wellow, BA2 8QB, South West

Everyone is invited to join members of the Bath Astronomers for this public stargazing session in Wellow. If you have your own kit you are welcome to take it along for help and advice. You should dress warmly and arrive as close to the start time as possible to avoid car lights ruining people’s night vision too frequently. Wear stout, warm, waterproof footwear and consider a thermos of your favourite warm drink. Note that these observing only events are subject to the weather so do check the Bath Astronomers website before setting off.

Please note that this event has already taken place on 06/10/2019

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

The below chart shows if and when the skies will be at their darkest during this event. Moonlight is shown in light yellow and the Sun's twilight in light blue. Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
