Stargazing at New Lanark
Saturday 23rd March 2024 from 19:30pm to 21:30pm
New Lanark World Heritage Site
New Lanark Road, Lanard, Lanarkshire, ML11 9DB
Have you ever looked up at the night sky and felt a sense of wonder and mystery? The stars, the moon, and the vast expanse of the cosmos are an endless source of fascination, and there’s nothing quite like the experience of stargazing. If you share this passion, we have something exciting to share with you. We are thrilled to announce a spectacular stargazing event that will take place at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of New Lanark!
Join your guide, a fully trained Dark Sky Ranger, on Friday 22nd or Saturday 23rd March 2024, in Scotland’s largest rooftop garden from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm for an unforgettable stargazing experience suitable for anyone age five and up. Your journey will start in the theatre, where you will be led through a mesmerising talk on the stories of the skies before making your way to our café and gift shop, where the Scottish Wildlife Trust will be on hand to chat with you about local nocturnal animals.
At the same time, you grab a hot cup of tea or coffee with homemade cake (included in the price). At this point, you will go up to our stunning rooftop garden for the main event: stargazing! The location has been carefully chosen to provide an unobstructed night sky view away from the city lights.
Please note that this has already taken place on 23/03/2024
