Experience an evening of astronomical wonders! Learn the constellations of the autumn sky, the stories that go with them and how to navigate using the stars. See star clusters, nebulae and even our neighbouring galaxy!

Get an awe-inspiring, mind-melting glimpse into the depths of space in good company. We will also listen out for nocturnal wildlife.

Children can attend for free if accompanied by a responsible adult.

NB This event is weather dependent. You will receive an email by 4 pm on the day if it is going to be postponed. If this happens, you will receive a full refund.

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

The below chart shows if and when the skies will be at their darkest during this event. Moonlight is shown in light yellow and the Sun's twilight in light blue. Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
