Stargazing and Wildlife night at Newport Wetlands
Saturday 12th August 2023 from 17:30pm to 23:30pm
RSPB Newport Wetlands
West Nash Road, Newport, Gwent, NP18 2BZ
Enjoy a fabulous stargazing experience alongside wildlife walks and family-friendly activities at this “Summer Spectacular” event at Newport Wetlands.
For the first part of the evening, there will be some hands-on activities, including sweep netting, pond dipping and crafts (conditions permitting); we will also have our moth expert to show us all we need to know about moth trapping.
As an alternative, there will be the option of a peaceful after-hours guided walk around the reserve.
From 8 pm, the Usk Astronomical Society will be here for the stargazing special. We will have an indoor planetarium and presentation before heading out onto the reserve for some dark sky stargazing with telescopes.
You might even glimpse some Perseid meteors that peak in intensity tonight!
Tickets include a hot meal, drinks, marshmallows and hot chocolate served around the fire pit.
Please note that this has already taken place on 12/08/2023
