Enjoy an evening of stargazing at the Bothan on Badentarbet Pier near Achiltibuie, including a laser-guided tour of the constellations and views through telescopes of planets, galaxies, stellar nurseries, star clusters and more (weather permitting).
Learn how you can protect and promote your dark skies in the informative talk ‘Losing the Cosmos’.
If the weather isn’t clear, don’t worry, as there will be lots of other space-themed activities on offer indoors, telescope demos, meteorites, virtual reality headsets (Scale of the Universe), projections of the night sky (flat-screen) and Q&A with our astronomers.
This event is free, but when checking out you can donate towards next year’s Wester Ross Dark Skies Festival activities. Your support is much appreciated!
This event is part of the Wester Ross Dark Skies Festival.
The below chart shows if and when the skies will be at their darkest during this event. Moonlight is shown in light yellow and the Sun's twilight in light blue. Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
