Stargazing and Mindfulness at Blythe Hill

Stargazing and Mindfulness at Blythe Hill

Saturday 4th December 2021 from 18:30pm to 20:30pm

Blythe Hill Fields
Blythe Hill Lane, London, London, SE23 1ND

Enjoy an evening of stargazing and mindfulness at this event at Blythe Hill, organised in collaboration between Dark Sky London and Zen tutor and astrophysicist, Mark Westmoquette.

Spend some time experiencing the nighttime, the night sky, appreciating the spectacular view of the London skyline, and checking out the stars if it’s clear.

Mark will guide you through some mindful stargazing practices, tell stories about the stars, immerse ourselves in the nighttime, and contemplate our place within the universe.

Booking is not needed; turn up on the night. This event will occur whether it is clear or cloudy; however, it may be cancelled if raining heavily.

Please note that this has already taken place on 04/12/2021

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

The below chart shows if and when the skies will be at their darkest during this event. Moonlight is shown in light yellow and the Sun's twilight in light blue. Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
