University of St Andrews, St Andrews, KY16
The St Andrews Observatory, home to the James Gregory Telescope, is opened to the public by St Andrews University every first Wednesday of the month, 7-9pm, independent of the weather. This is a chance to see the biggest telescope in the country in action, particularly recommended when the night is clear and the JGT is producing images. The University guarantees that an astronomer will be at hand to give a tour and answer questions. These events are in addition to the regular weekly Thursday night events organised by the St Andrews University Astronomical Society.
- Event will involve stargazing and observing the skies through telescopes weather permitting
This event is being organised by St Andrews University who should be contacted if you have any queries. We highly recommend you confirm this event is indeed going ahead before travelling. If you do attend it would be fantastic if you could let the organiser know you found them via Go Stargazing!
