Spring stars and galaxies far away!
Saturday 11th March 2023 from 19:30pm to 21:30pm
Sutton Bank Star Hub
Sutton Bank National Park Centre, Thirsk, North Yorkshire, YO7 2EX
Join experienced astronomer Richard Darn and experience the beautiful skies above the North York Moors Dark Sky Reserve.
With the moon absent, the prospects are excellent to see a sky full of stars and even further afield. Double stars, star clusters and other galaxies far away are on the observing list for this brilliant beginner’s event.
The Great Bear will ride high in the sky along with other fabulous ancient constellations like Leo and Gemini. Mars is over to the west, becoming more distant from the Earth as time passes. We will use powerful telescopes and binoculars to unlock the sky’s treasures.
Please note that this has already taken place on 11/03/2023
