Solar Observing at Raystede

Solar Observing at Raystede

Sunday 30th July 2017 from 11:00am to 16:00pm

Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare
The Broyle, Ringmer, BN8 5AJ

The Seven Sisters Astronomical Society will be helping to raise money for Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare by running this special solar observing day. Come along and look at the sun through specially adapted telescopes, then have a look at the animals! A great idea to get the family out for the day in the (hopefully) sunshine, and a good cause too!

Please note that this event has already taken place on 30/07/2017

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

The below chart shows if and when the skies will be at their darkest during this event. Moonlight is shown in light yellow and the Sun's twilight in light blue. Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
