See the Lunar Eclipse at Wynyard Observatory

Everyone is invited to join astronomers at Wynyard Planetarium and Observatory to observe the “blood moon” lunar eclipse in the early hours of Monday morning. See the bright full moon darken as it enters Earth’s shadow turning an orange / red colour at its maximum eclipse around 5am. The planets Venus and Jupiter will also be on show! No need to book simply turn up!

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.
