Rosse Observatory picnic and Perseids
Friday 12th August 2022 from 10:00am to Saturday 13th August 2022 00:30am
Rosse Observatory
Carleton Road, Pontefract, West Yorkshire, WF8 3RJ
The Rosse Observatory will be open for their general public viewing tonight, from 19:30, costing £7 per adult or £10 per family (under 16’s free).
As this evening is the peak of the annual Perseids meteor shower, after their open evening event, the West Yorkshire Astronomical Society invite you to their “picnic and Perseids” event, where you can join them in looking for shooting stars.
Bring your picnic, garden chairs, warm blanket etc. and count the number of Perseid meteors you can see! This part of the evening (after their public open night) is free admittance, although donations are welcome. Hot and cold drinks will be available from their tuck shop.
Please note that this picnic and Perseids event is weather dependent; if it is cloudy or rainy, the Society will cancel it.
Please note that this has already taken place on 12/08/2022
