Robin Hood's Bay Dark Skies walk; a smugglers paradise
Friday 23rd February 2024 from 17:30pm to 19:30pm
Robin Hood's Bay Car Park
Robin Hood's Bay Road, Whitby, North Yorkshire, YO22 4QN
This coastal walk starts and finishes in Robin Hood Bay, the busiest smuggling community on the Yorkshire coastline during the 18th century. With countless tales of thieves, rogues and smugglers, this is one of the most intriguing walking locations within the National Park.
For this walk, we follow the old railway line towards Whitby before heading back to the Bay along the Cleveland Way, with thunderous waves below and amazing dark skies above; experience this beautiful section of the Yorkshire Heritage Coastline.
Walk Yorkshire’s dark skies events are open to everyone over 12 years old. The walks will include a section on navigating using the stars; most walks are 5-7 miles.
This event is part of the North York Moors Dark Skies Festival 2024 which occurs from the 9th of February to the 25th of February.
