Join the enthusiastic astronomers from the West of London Astronomical Society for this one of their regular public observing events at Ruislip Lido.

The event takes place each evening on Friday 15th March, Saturday 16th March and Sunday 17th March with Society members on hand to guide you around the night skies pointing their telescopes at a variety of interesting objects.

Admission is free with families very much welcome. Why not go along with some friends too and have a great evening out!

Note that if the weather is poor then the event may be cancelled on that night…

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

The below chart shows if and when the skies will be at their darkest during this event. Moonlight is shown in light yellow and the Sun's twilight in light blue. Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
