Pop-Up Solar Observing at Wells Cathedral

An opportunity for the family to join the members of Wells & Mendip Astronomers on the Wells Cathedral Green on Sunday 28 July from 11am to 5pm to safely observe the surface and atmosphere of your nearest star, the Sun.
This free event allows the public to wander up and use a range of special telescopes configured so you can view the Sun without damaging your eyesight. Under the guidance of members of Wells & Mendip Astronomers you’ll see sunspots, faculae, filaments, and solar prominences.
The event is weather dependent and will be run on either Saturday 27th or Sunday 28th July.
