Open to the general public these meetings will begin with a talk on an astronomical topic followed by observing if the skies are clear. If you would like to attend a £2 donation is asked for towards refreshments and other costs. No prior booking required. Under 16’s can attend for free but must be accompanied by an adult. Refreshments are available from approx. 6:30pm for the Community Open Dome which starts at 7pm and 5:30pm for the Family Open Dome which starts at 6pm (please check with the event organiser as to which type of open dome night this particular event is!)

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.
