Hyde Common - Pentons Hill
New Forest National Park, Hyde, SP6 2QJ
Members of the public are invited to join astronomers from Fordingbridge Astronomical Society for this one of their regular “clear sky only” observing sessions at their favoured location in Hyde, near Fordingbridge.
Note that these events take place only when weather conditions allow with notifications being made on the society’s Facebook page. There are two sessions each month with the second session being a backup should the first session not take place. Please do check with the organisers first before setting off!
Please also note that attendance of these events is subject to an understanding of the observing guidelines in particular the required use of red lights (rather than white lights which affect ability to see in the dark). No prior booking is required, simply make yourself known to a society member on arrival.
Please note that this event has already taken place on 09/02/2019
The below chart shows if and when the skies will be at their darkest during this event. Moonlight is shown in light yellow and the Sun's twilight in light blue. Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
