Observing and photographing the Autumn Skies (weekend residential course)
Friday 22nd November 2024 from 18:30pm to Sunday 24th November 2024 15:30pm
Preston Montford Field Centre
Montford Bridge, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, SY4 1DX, West Midlands
Organised by the Society for Popular Astronomy, this weekend course covers observing the range of objects in this autumn’s sky, both visually and using imaging techniques.
Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will be in the sky, with the last-quarter Moon rising before midnight, and we’ll have a wide range of deep-sky objects on show plus of course meteors.
Our guest speakers will be Alan Clitherow (SPA Planetary Section Director), Mark McIntyre (Meteor Section Director), Mary McIntyre (astrophotographer) and Robin Scagell, SPA Vice President. Between them they have a wealth of experience of observing, drawing and imaging virtually everything in the sky!
The weekend is aimed at both beginners to observing and those who are more advanced, so we’ll be covering the basics as well as more detailed topics.
