An opportunity for your and your family to join the members of Wells & Mendip Astronomers on the Wells Cathedral Green on Saturday, 22 July, from 11 am to safely observe the surface and atmosphere of your nearest star, the Sun.
This free event allows the public to wander up and use a range of special telescopes configured so you can view the Sun without damaging your eyesight. Under the guidance of Wells & Mendip Astronomers members, you’ll see sunspots, faculae, filaments, and solar prominences.

Event darkness
