Newtown Astronomy Society Open Day

Everyone is invited to this free open day organised by the Newtown Astronomy Society.
The event includes various talks including Russell Parry on Space food and the Appleby meteorite.
Emma Wride is doing a hands on for the younger audiences about space art and how to make a rocket that works.
First Light Optics will bring a range of beginners scopes to demonstrate, as well as linking to their solar observatory in Spain to show live views of the Sun.
There will be a stand by Chloe Jackson for a local wildlife reserve and viewing site away from any lights.
And Newtown Astronomy Society astronomers will have a specially-equipped telescope will be available to observe the Sun safely if the weather permits.
