Moonwatch with Eddington Astronomical Society
Friday 12th November 2021 from 18:30pm to 21:00pm
Kirkbie Kendal School
Lound Road, Kendal, Cumbria, LA9 7EH
Members of the Eddington Astronomical Society will be offering fantastic views of the Moon through their telescopes. See the mountains and craters on the Moon, the smooth lunar seas, maria, and notice the lack of craters which indicate they are younger than other regions.
If you are lucky, you might even get to see evidence of ancient flowing lava and vast fault lines that indicate the Moon was once geologically active and not the dead world we see today.
You might also look at the planet Jupiter and see its cloud belts and several moons.
If it is clear, wrap up warm with hats and gloves as it can get cold.
The event is free of charge; however, it requires prior booking.
This event takes place as part of the Dark Skies Cumbria Festival 2021.
Please note that this has already taken place on 12/11/2021
