Moon Palace: Relaxed After Dark Observation Session at Royal Armouries
Sunday 22nd October 2023 from 19:30pm to 21:00pm
Royal Armouries Museum
Armouries Drive, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS10 1LT
Please book your free place for this after-dark moon gazing session with onboard telescopes. An interactive experience that encourages excellent conversations on art, science and much more hosted by Artists and Astronomers over a cup of ‘cosmic’ tea! And if it’s a clear night, we may get lucky and see Jupiter’s moons or Saturn’s rings!
This session has been designed by Purple Patch Arts specifically for learning-disabled and autistic adults, and a staffed chill-out space will be available throughout the evening. More info about what to expect, including a visual story, will be open from 22 September. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact [email protected].
Artists Heather Peak and Ivan Morison created Moon Palace; this new artwork and mobile observatory is inspired by the legacy of John Smeaton and the observatory he had in East Leeds. The project forms part of Leeds Year of Culture 2023.
Please note that this has already taken place on 22/10/2023
