Moon Palace: After Dark Observation Session with Audio Description
Tuesday 24th October 2023 from 21:30pm to 23:00pm
Leeds Society for Deaf and Blind People Centre
St Mary's Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS9 7DP
Please book your free place for this after-dark moon gazing session with our onboard telescopes. An interactive experience that encourages excellent conversations on art, science and much more hosted by Artists and Astronomers over a cup of ‘cosmic’ tea! And if it’s a clear night, we may get lucky and see Jupiter’s moons or Saturn’s rings.
This session has been specifically designed for blind and visually impaired people.
Artists Heather Peak and Ivan Morison created Moon Palace; this new artwork and mobile observatory is inspired by the legacy of John Smeaton and the observatory he had in East Leeds. The project forms part of Leeds Year of Culture 2023.
Please note that this has already taken place on 24/10/2023
