Luke Jerram's Museum of the Moon, Bolton Abbey
Tuesday 11th October 2022 from 00:00am to Monday 31st October 2022 12:00pm
Bolton Abbey
Bolton Priory, Skipton, North Yorkshire, BD23 6AL
The Yorkshire Dales National Park is thrilled to welcome the spectacle of Luke Jerram’s Museum of the Moon to Bolton Abbey. The Museum of the Moon will be suspended in the Priory Church. See the moon like you never have before.
Measuring seven metres in diameter, the moon features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. At an approximate scale of 1:500,000, each centimetre of the internally lit spherical sculpture represents 5km of the moon’s surface.
The installation is a fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and surround-sound composition created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award-winning composer Dan Jones.
This is a ticketed event. To avoid disappointment, tickets must be pre-booked in advance.
This event takes place as part of the National Parks Dark Skies Fringe Festival 2022.
Please note that this has already taken place on 11/10/2022
