
The Markshall Estate is a beautiful conservation area comprising of ancient woodland, botanical gardens and arboretum. From a stargazer’s perspective, the location benefits from being away from the worst light pollution from Braintree and Colchester and offers some excellent views of the skies. The Markshall Estate hosts stargazing events organised by North Essex Astronomical Society.
