King's Lynn & District Astronomy Society meeting and observing

King's Lynn & District Astronomy Society meeting and observing

Monday 13th December 2021 from 19:30pm to 21:30pm

Tottenhill Village Hall
10 Whin Common Road, Tottenhill, Norfolk, PE33 0RS

On Monday evenings, the welcoming and friendly astronomers of King’s Lynn & District Astronomy Society meet at Tottenhill Village Hall.

On the second and fourth Monday’s of each month, meetings include a presentation by a guest speaker then observing using telescopes afterwards, weather permitting.

On all other Mondays, and only if weather conditions are favourable, the meeting is devoted to observations. These evenings are perfect for beginners and are a great way to learn how to view the night sky. Non-members are very welcome to join in; no equipment is necessary; however, you are welcome to take your own telescope if you have one. If you plan to attend an observation meeting, please get in touch with the Society to confirm the event is going ahead.

Please note that this has already taken place on 13/12/2021

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

The below chart shows if and when the skies will be at their darkest during this event. Moonlight is shown in light yellow and the Sun's twilight in light blue. Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
