Celebrate British Science Week at South Ormsby at this introduction to stargazing event. Join the East Lincolnshire Astronomy Club for an evening of unmissable space discovery in some of Lincolnshire’s darkest skies.

Whether you’re a complete novice aiming to learn more about the skies, or wanting to test your knowledge and immerse yourself in the world of space for an evening, this event is suitable for all.

The evening will consist of talks and interactive activities, with a chance to get outside and observe (weather-permitting). Weather appropriate clothing recommended. Booking essential.

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
