Held between September and June each year these monthly “introduction to astronomy” events are specifically aimed at beginners to include help and advice on using telescopes, navigating the night skies and astrophotography. Bring your own telescope as, if the weather permits, there’ll be opportunity for observing from the back of the venue.

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.
