Hunstanton Observatory Launch Evening
Saturday 22nd April 2023 from 18:30pm to 20:00pm
Hunstanton Observatory
Off Lighthouse Close, Hunstanton, Norfolk, PE36 6EL
The brand new Hunstanton Observatory on the famous Hunstanton clifftops will unroll its roof to the stars for the first time on Saturday, 22nd April, from 6.30 pm.
Enjoy a complimentary hot drink and spend the early evening under the darkening sky at the observatory site, situated next to the Pitch & Putt golf course and just off Lighthouse Close in Hunstanton.
Telescopes will be in action for your sky viewing pleasure, all kindly operated by the King’s Lynn & District Astronomy Society.
Weather permitting, visitors could observe the first glimpses of the summer constellations and the return of the ‘core’ of the Milky Way galaxy. Venus is also visible in the evening twilight.
The soon-to-be bookable Observatory venue will also interest wildlife organisations, educational groups and even landscape and sunset photographers for a variety of uses.
For more details about the new observatory and the forthcoming night sky photography competition – to be formally launched at the event too – please see the official Hunstanton Observatory website.
Please note that this has already taken place on 22/04/2023
