Millenium House - Pensilva
Princess Road, Pensilva, PL14 5NF
Experience Bodmin Moor’s glorious night sky with a free star gazing evening on Friday 15th March at Millennium House, Pensilva from 7pm until 10pm. A mix of activities are planned including a talk on Radio Telescope projects, a Magic Planet demonstration and, weather allowing, a stargazing session. Mars will due west at 8pm with a half Moon to the south. March is still a great time to catch Orion and a chance to see some of Leo’s galaxies millions of light years away.
There is no charge to attend the event which has been organised by Cornwall Council and led by Caradon Observatory. Drinks will be available for purchase and there will be a charity box for any donations to Pensilva Health Centre and the Sterile Ward at Derriford Hospital.
Please note that this event has already taken place on 15/03/2019
The below chart shows if and when the skies will be at their darkest during this event. Moonlight is shown in light yellow and the Sun's twilight in light blue. Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
