The Dedham Vale Dark Skies Campaign will hold a FREE event at the Stratford St Mary Institute Hall on April 1st. There will be an illustrated talk about the Moon and an opportunity to view the Moon through telescopes. If the weather does not cooperate, there will be an additional presentation on our Solar System.

There will also be a “telescope surgery” where you can ask some accomplished astronomers questions about your telescopes or astronomy.

Please email [email protected] with the number of people you would like to book so we can prepare the correct seating. There is a maximum of 50 attendees for this venue.

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
