Members of the public are very welcome to join the Fordingbridge Astronomers for this one of their monthly observing sessions in Hyde. A number of telescopes will be setup to allow observations of different objects in the sky many of which will change throughout the season. Events throughout the Summer months will commence later due to the longer days.

Whilst visitors are welcome to attend they are asked to abide by the club’s observing guidelines. Guests should make themselves known to a club member on arrival.

Note that these events are dependent on the weather — please check the club’s website to confirm that this event is going ahead on 20/03/20 or its reserve evening on 28/03/20.

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
