Staindrop, Barnard Castle, DL2 3AH
Join the team from Stargazing Nights at Raby Castle to learn about the night sky, including the autumn constellations visible from the UK.
You’ll also discover the best conditions, times of the month, and times of day to continue your explorations, as well as how to choose a telescope and/or a pair of binoculars. We’ll discuss how to use free and low-cost software and mobile apps to help you find your way around the stars.
If conditions are clear, you’ll head outside for a tour of the night sky, using astronomy binoculars (we’ll lend everyone a pair for the duration). You’ll learn how to identify some of the main constellations, the brightest stars and other objects.
