Description

Visit High Force to learn about the night sky, including the autumn constellations visible from the UK. You will also discover the best conditions, times of the month, and times of day to continue your explorations, as well as how to choose a telescope and/or a pair of binoculars. Find out how to use free and low-cost software and mobile apps to help you find your way around the stars.

If conditions are clear, we will head outside for a tour of the night sky, using astronomy binoculars (provided). Learn how to identify some of the main constellations, the brightest stars and other objects.

This event is taking place as part of the North Pennines Stargazing Festival 2019 running from 23rd October to 3rd November 2019.

- Event includes an astronomy related presentation or talk.

- Event will involve stargazing and observing the skies through telescopes weather permitting
