Dark Skies Singalong, Quiz and Sky Gazing Farm Event

Dark Skies Singalong, Quiz and Sky Gazing Farm Event

Wednesday 18th October 2023 from 18:30pm to 21:30pm

Shoulsbarrow Farm
Exmoor National Park, Challacombe, Devon, EX31 4TS, South West

Join experienced choir leader Amanda and her husband Gary Taylor for an uplifting evening of fun and laughter, singing along to some dark sky-related songs and a short quiz, again with a dark sky theme!

Both are based in their farm barn surrounded by friendly traditional and rare breed livestock and horses. Sky gazing from the barn or anywhere on site is fantastic.

An ideal event for well-being in this tranquil location under some of the darkest skies on Exmoor. Adults only. Hot drinks and sausage in a roll are provided.

This event occurs during the <a class=”link” href=”https://gostargazing.co.uk/events/exmoor-dark-skies-festival-2023/”>Exmoor Dark Skies Festival 2023</a>.

Please note that this has already taken place on 18/10/2023

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

The below chart shows if and when the skies will be at their darkest during this event. Moonlight is shown in light yellow and the Sun's twilight in light blue. Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
