Description
Join in the annual CPRE Star Count with astronomers from Go Stargazing! Organised by the Campaign to Protect Rural England everyone is invited to count the number of stars they can see in the constellation of Orion between 6th February and 12th February and submit their findings to the CPRE website.
This citizen science project aims to highlight the growing issue of light pollution and its increasing adverse effect on our ability to view the night skies. Whether you live in a light polluted town or city or in the countryside your participation is equally important! It's a great activity to do with children too!
Register your email address with the CPRE website to receive more details, including a family friendly activity pack! Thank you for taking part! Clear skies!
This event takes place at the same time as the National Parks Virtual Dark Skies Festival 2021, an annual celebration of the wonderful dark skies above the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors International Dark Sky Reserves.
