Clanfield Observatory Sun Live!
Saturday 22nd June 2024 from 13:00pm to 15:00pm
Clanfield Observatory
Hinton Heights, Clanfield, Hampshire, PO8
Clanfield Observatory offer a rare chance to see the Sun in Real time using special Sun Filters (depending on the weather conditions).
Our high quality specialist filter systems allow us to look directly at the sun safely through our telescopes. You’ll have a chance to see the surface of the sun itself, and depending on the activity on the Sun, you may also see Prominences and Sun Spots.
Note: It is extremely dangerous to look directly at the sun without specialist Solar Observing Equipment. We will provide the equipment and information you need to do this safely while you visit.
It is advised to wear Sun screen and a hat to protect yourself from the sun. Should the weather prevent views of the Sun, the event will still go ahead, and an illustrated talk about the Sun will be given.
Our Sun Live events are in great demand. Tickets need to be paid for at the time of booking.
Entrance is exclusively by pre purchased tickets priced at £10:00 per Adult, and £6 per person aged 16 and under.
Please note that this has already taken place on 22/06/2024
