Cambridge Young Astronomers - The Death of Stars
Saturday 27th November 2021 from 10:00am to 11:00am
Online event by Cambridge Astronomical Association
After spending most of their lives using up their nuclear fuel, there comes a time when the fuel gauge reads zero, which spells disaster for the star. Bigger stars tend to die in a spectacular supernova explosion, while smaller stars end their lives with more of a whimper. We’ll be looking at the various types of stars and the way they finish their lives, including a type that was recently discovered.
