Bodmin Moor International Dark Sky Submission Launch Event

This event is being held in celebration of Bodmin Moor’s submission to the International Dark Sky Association for the region to be awarded dark sky status.

Organised in conjunction with the Caradon and Tolcarn Observatories you are invited to join astronomers for a two course dinner and presentation.  From 8:30 there will be public stargazing which is open and free to everyone.

The Go Stargazing team congratulates all those involved for their hard work and we look forward to supporting this dark sky application in any way we can!

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

The below chart shows if and when the skies will be at their darkest during this event. Moonlight is shown in light yellow and the Sun's twilight in light blue. Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
