Ben Nevis Sunrise Experience with Large Outdoors

Ben Nevis Sunrise Experience with Large Outdoors

Saturday 4th June 2022 from 22:00pm to 06:00am

Ben Nevis
Achintee, Fort William, Inverness-shire, PH33 6SQ

Watch the sunrise from the summit of Ben Nevis, the highest point in the UK, with the team from Large Outdoors!

It’s an experience like no other, climbing a mountain in the dark with a supportive group and an experienced leader to wait on the summit for the first hints of light and then watch the Sun come up and reveal the landscape. You will be doing just that, and on the UK’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis (1345m).

On the west coast of Scotland, right in the heart of the Highlands, the views from Ben Nevis are spectacular, from the hundreds of other summits visible from the top, right over to the Atlantic and the western isles.

After greeting the Sun (we recommend bringing a hot drink!), we’ll head back down, where you can gaze out at all the scenery hidden at night. Finally, arriving back in Glen Nevis, you can celebrate not only climbing Ben Nevis but doing it in a way few other people do.

Please note: Your exact meeting time and location will be confirmed when you book your sunrise experience with Large Outdoors.

Please note that this has already taken place on 04/06/2022

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

The below chart shows if and when the skies will be at their darkest during this event. Moonlight is shown in light yellow and the Sun's twilight in light blue. Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
