A Beginner’s Guide to the Night Sky

Saturday 24th October 2020 from 18:30pm to 19:30pm

Join astronomer Neill Sanders for this introduction on how to find your way around the night-time skies. Neill will use the fantastic "Stellarium" planterium software to show you how to spot planets, identify some of the brighter stars and constellations as well as locate interesting objects that you can observe using binoculars or a telescope, as well as what to look out for over the coming months. An ideal introduction for anyone getting started in astronomy!

The Zoom meeting is fully booked for this event however you can watch live via our public Facebook page (no Facebook account required) here when the event starts at 18:30.

The event is taking place as part of the National Parks Virtual Dark Skies Week which is organised jointly by the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks, this with enthusiastic support from the team at Go Stargazing!

This online event is being organised by Yorkshire Dales National Park who should be contacted if you have any queries. If you do attend this online event it would be great if you could let the organiser know you found out about it via Go Stargazing, thank you!
