Astrophotography at High Force

Saturday 2nd November 2019 from 20:30pm to 22:00pm

The High Force Hotel

Alston Road, Middleton-in-Teesdale, DL12 0XH

Description

Join Gary Lintern to learn the basics of astrophotography and night time landscape photography. After a short discussion about equipment and techniques, we will head to the waterfall for a practical photography session. The Moon will have set before the workshop, so the sky will be completely dark.

Subject to conditions, we will be able to see and photograph the Milky Way. You will need a camera on which you can adjust the focus, shutter speed, aperture, and ISO manually and a tripod. The best lens would be a wide landscape lens with a wide aperture, but we can work with whatever you have.

This event is taking place as part of the North Pennines Stargazing Festival 2019 running from 23rd October to 3rd November 2019.

- Event offers guidance and tuition on how to take night-time photographs using a camera and tripod or using a telescope in place of a camera lens.
