Astronomy Talks – Exploding Stars
Tuesday 26th November 2024 from 19:00pm to 20:00pm
The Friarage Theatre - Yarm School
Yarm School, Middlesbrough, Cleveland, TS15 9EJ
Join Go Stargazing astronomer Dr Fred Stevenson for this fascinating astronomy talk, no previous knowledge of astronomy or science is required!
In this talk we will consider the life cycles of stars more massive than the Sun.
These explode at the end of their lives as spectacular supernovae – so bright that they can be seen across the universe. Their endpoints are either dense exotic objects known as neutron stars or, for the most massive stars, the enigmatic black hole.
