Join local astronomer John Slinn from nearby “Stargazers Cottage” for this one his regular public stargazing sessions at the Chequers Inn in Rookley. Experience the fabulous dark skies of the Isle of Wight including observing using large telescopes, weather permitting, or an astronomically themed talk if weather is poor. Small fee payable on the door.

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.
