Astronomy Evening at Bore Place

Astronomy Evening at Bore Place

Friday 15th March 2019 from 19:00pm to 21:00pm

Bore Place Country House and Gardens
Chiddingstone, Edenbridge, TN8 7AR, South East

Join the Edenbridge and District Astronomers for an evening looking at the night sky in the farmyard! Fingers crossed for a clear night so you can look through powerful telescopes to see the moon and see if you can find other deep sky objects. The team will talk you through the observations and give hints and tips about other key astronomical objects or events you can look out for over the coming months.

Please note that this event has already taken place on 15/03/2019

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

The below chart shows if and when the skies will be at their darkest during this event. Moonlight is shown in light yellow and the Sun's twilight in light blue. Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
