The Fox & Hounds - Ainthorpe
45 Brook Lane, Whitby, North Yorkshire, YO21 2LD
Head to the Fox & Hounds, a traditional rural inn located at the heart of the North York Moors International Dark Sky Reserve. Whitby & District Astronomical Society will be hosting the event in the garden, offering uninterrupted night sky views.
Several telescope stations will be in operation, each trained on a specific astronomical feature. Guests can walk between the scopes and view and learn about the night sky from their expert hosts.
Alongside the stargazing, enjoy a winter cook-out, offering traditional seasonal warmers such as jacket potatoes, roast chestnuts, pumpkin soup, pulled pork, mulled cider and more…
Keen to stay longer? Stay in a camping pod or cosy B&B room. The Fox&Hounds is dark-skies friendly, meaning they have stargazing equipment you can use for the length of your stay.
This event takes place as part of the National Parks Dark Skies Fringe Festival 2022.
