A Ramble through the Solar System
Wednesday 26th February 2025 from 17:30pm to 21:00pm
Crows Nest Barn
Austwick, Settle, Lancashire, LA2 8AS, Yorkshire and The Humber England
Join us for an evening of cosmic exploration as you indulge on the Yorkshire Dales finest wood-fired pizzas topped with the best seasonal British cheeses from our next door neighbours at The Courtyard Dairy.
Martin will take us on a journey to explore the Sun and the Northern Lights. Our local star, the Sun, dominates everything in the solar system. Worshipped as a god from the earliest of times, at one stage astronomers believed that lived inside the Sun! The Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, are caused by flares from the Sun striking the Earth. The lights are astonishingly beautiful!
If the weather is kind, we will go outside and see the magic of the stars ourselves or observe them from the warmth and comfort of the restaurant itself. Either way, the evening will be an astronomical experience that transcends the ordinary – where heavenly food meets celestial wonders.
This event takes place as part of the Yorkshire Dales Dark Skies Festival 2025.
Please note that this has already taken place on 26/02/2025
