DESCRIPTION:This is not your normal tour and eclipse viewing in Egypt. It i
 s a journey through three very different landscapes — the Mediterranean 
 coast\, Western Desert and Nile Valley — combining fascinating places ra
 rely included in a standard Egypt itinerary with one of nature’s most ex
 traordinary events. \n\nAlong the way\, we’ll explore Alexandria\, remot
 e desert oases and ancient sites before witnessing the total solar eclipse
  of 2 August 2027 from near the centre line\, enjoying an incredible 6 min
 utes and 23 seconds of totality. Our journey then continues along the Nile
  towards Cairo and the iconic Pyramids of Giza\, completing a truly unforg
 ettable Egyptian adventure.\n\nIntroducing your local agent\n\nThis tour i

 erary\n\nBelow is a summarised itinerary of the tour. The full itinerary d

 uka website.\n\nDay 1 – Tuesday 27 July 2027\n\nArrival in Alexandria\n\
 nArrive in Egypt and begin our adventure in Alexandria\, on the Mediterran
 ean coast. After arriving and settling into our accommodation\, there will
  be time to relax ahead of the start of our journey through Egypt.\n\nDay 
 2 – Wednesday 28 July 2027\n\nAlexandria – City of History\n\nSpend th
 e day exploring Alexandria and discovering the history and character of Eg
 ypt's great Mediterranean city.\n\nDay 3 – Thursday 29 July 2027\n\nInto
  the Western Desert\n\nWe leave northern Egypt behind and travel towards K
 harga Oasis\, heading deep into Egypt's Western Desert. The change in land
 scape marks the beginning of a very different part of our journey.\n\nDay 
 4 – Friday 30 July 2027\n\nKharga – Oasis of Antiquity\n\nExplore the 
 archaeology and ancient sites of Kharga Oasis. This remote region contains
  Roman remains and archaeological sites rarely encountered on conventional
  tours of Egypt.\n\nDay 5 – Saturday 31 July 2027\n\nThe Oasis – Your 
 Day\n\nA more relaxed day in Kharga\, with opportunities to enjoy optional
  desert and oasis experiences or simply take some time to unwind before co
 ntinuing towards the Nile Valley.\n\nDay 6 – Sunday 1 August 2027\n\nFro
 m the Oasis to the Nile\n\nWe leave Kharga and travel towards Asyut\, wher
 e we establish our base ahead of the following day's total solar eclipse. 
 Excitement will undoubtedly be building as we make our final preparations 
 for one of nature's greatest spectacles. \n\nDay 7 – Monday 2 August 202
 7\n\nTotal Solar Eclipse – The highlight of the entire journey\n\nThe hi
 ghlight of the tour will be witnessing the total solar eclipse from Dabuka
 ’s specially prepared Observation Camp\, located in the Egyptian desert 
 near the centre line of the Moon’s shadow. Full facilities will be provi
 ded\, including plenty of shade and places to escape the heat and keep coo
 l throughout the day\, while the dry desert environment should make the hi
 gh temperatures more bearable than the more humid conditions experienced i
 n the Nile Valley.\n\nThe partial eclipse begins at approximately 08:34\, 
 with totality beginning at approximately 09:55. Maximum eclipse occurs sho
 rtly before 10:00\, followed by the end of totality at approximately 10:02
 . From our observing location\, totality is expected to last an extraordin
 ary 6 minutes 23 seconds. During totality the Sun's brilliant surface will
  be completely hidden by the Moon\, revealing the ethereal solar corona an
 d transforming the daylight sky into an eerie twilight. Following the ecli
 pse\, lunch will be served at the desert site before we return to our acco
 mmodation.\n\nDay 8 – Tuesday 3 August 2027\n\nThe Morning After\n\nAfte
 r the excitement of eclipse day\, enjoy a more relaxed day and the opportu
 nity to reflect on what we have experienced before continuing our journey 
 north. No doubt there will also be plenty of photographs\, stories and ecl
 ipse experiences to share!\n\nDay 9 – Wednesday 4 August 2027\n\nAkhenat
 en's City – Tell el-Amarna and Minya\n\nOur journey continues north thro
 ugh the Nile Valley with a visit to Tell el-Amarna\, the remarkable ancien
 t city associated with Pharaoh Akhenaten. We then continue towards Minya f
 or the next stage of our journey.\n\nDay 10 – Thursday 5 August 2027\n\n
 Along the Nile to Cairo\n\nLeaving Minya\, we continue north through the N
 ile Valley towards Cairo\, watching the landscape change as we approach Eg
 ypt's vast capital city.\n\nDay 11 – Friday 6 August 2027\n\nThe Final D
 ay – The Icons of Egypt\n\nOur final full day brings us face-to-face wit
 h some of Egypt's most famous sights. We visit Giza to see the Great Pyram
 ids and the Sphinx before exploring the treasures of the Grand Egyptian Mu
 seum. Our Egyptian adventure concludes with an evening beside the Nile –
  a fitting finale to an extraordinary journey encompassing ancient history
 \, desert landscapes and one of the greatest astronomical events it is pos
 sible to witness.\n\nDay 12 – Saturday 7 August 2027\n\nDeparture\n\nAft
 er breakfast\, our tour comes to an end and we begin our journeys home\, h
 opefully with unforgettable memories of Egypt – and of standing beneath

 Red Sea\n\nArrive in Egypt and transfer to Mövenpick El Quseir\, our home
  on the beautiful Red Sea coast for the first four nights of the tour. Aft
 er travelling\, the remainder of the day is yours to settle in\, relax and
  enjoy the surroundings.\n\nDay 2 – Thursday 29 July 2027\n\nRed Sea at 
 Your Own Pace\n\nA full day to enjoy the Red Sea at your leisure. Relax be
 side the pool or on the beach\, swim in the warm waters of the Red Sea or 
 simply enjoy a leisurely day at the resort.\n\nDay 3 – Friday 30 July 20
 27\n\nRelaxation by the Red Sea\n\nAnother day at leisure in El Quseir\, a
 llowing plenty of time to relax before we begin our journey inland towards
  Asyut and our eclipse observing location. For those interested in the nig
 ht sky\, the timing of our stay also coincides with activity from the Sout
 hern Delta Aquariid and Alpha Capricornid meteor showers.\n\nDay 4 – Sat
 urday 31 July 2027\n\nFinal Day on the Coast\n\nEnjoy a final full day bes
 ide the Red Sea before our journey into Upper Egypt. This is another oppor
 tunity to relax and enjoy the resort\, coast and warm waters of the Red Se
 a before the focus of the tour turns towards the eclipse.\n\nDay 5 – Sun
 day 1 August 2027\n\nEl Quseir – Dendera – Asyut\n\nToday we leave the
  Red Sea and travel inland towards the Nile Valley. Along the way\, we vis
 it Dendera\, home to the remarkably well-preserved Temple of Hathor and on
 e of Egypt’s most impressive ancient temple complexes. We then continue 
 north to Asyut\, where we check into our hotel the Jewel Assuit and make o
 ur final preparations for the following day.\n\nDay 6 – Monday 2 August
