Chesterfield Barnett Observatory open evening (visitors welcome)
Friday every week from January 2025 to January 2026
Chesterfield Barnett Observatory
Hastings Close, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S41 8RH, East Midlands
Visitors are welcome to join the friendly and enthusiastic members of the Chesterfield Astronomical Society at this informal observing session at their observatory which occurs every Friday throughout the year.
The session starts at 8 pm and finishes when the last person leaves, usually around 9:30 pm; however, it can go on until much later, especially during the Summer months when the skies do not darken until later.
Visitors are welcome for just a small charge of £2 per adult (children under 16 are free) to help with costs. If the weather is favourable, you’ll be shown cool objects in the night sky through their large telescope in the dome.
There is no need to book — just pop in if the weather looks good!
