The High Legh Community Observatory is run by a group of welcoming and enthusiastic astronomers who are incredibly active in astronomy outreach.

Every Friday (weather permitting), the group holds observing sessions to which the public is very much welcome to join. The observatory is also opened for special astronomical events such as meteor showers and eclipses. In addition, group visits are catered for and welcomed.

The group also hosts regular monthly meetings at St John's Church, High Legh, on the second Thursday of each month. These meetings are also open to the public and include talks and presentations on various astronomical topics.

High Legh Community Observatory, High Legh, WA16 6NS

Everyone is welcome to join the High Legh Astronomical Society members in their charming and welcoming observatory for this one of their regular Friday evenings open nights.

Please note that the observatory will be open only if the weather is good for two to three hours after dusk.

The start time of these events changes throughout the year, with the earliest time being 8 pm. If you are interested in attending, we recommend you contact the Society in advance to confirm opening times and let them know you'll be going along.

These events are free of charge (donations welcome!) and make for an excellent opportunity for an evening of stargazing with a friendly and enthusiastic bunch of amateur astronomers!
