Bayfordbury Observatory's primary purpose is to teach undergraduate students; however, the facility is regularly open to the public through open evenings and community-visit events.

In addition, they also offer private tours for groups of 15 to 35 people, which is excellent for Scouting Association groups, Girl Guiding groups, Astronomy groups, school club groups, and many more. These tours include a talk relevant to your group, a planetarium show, a tour of the telescopes (and a chance to use some of them, weather permitting).

The location has a wide range of permanently-mounted telescopes housed inside motorised domes. We recommend you visit!
